avatar question

have been through all the previous answers about inactive avatars til I'm crosseyed. have followed all the instructions and got as far as 'please allow five to ten minutes for your avatar to work' (not the exact wording but meaning that) have waited two days - when I go on my profile it just tells me my avatar is inactive.
have done the clear cache thing and really thought I'd cracked it when I got the five/ten minute advice message.
I don't really understand the F5 thingie either - what exactly do I press and in what order and where. For thoses abers who are exasperated with me I quite understand! I'm exasperated with myself/

Have you clicked on the box to activate it?

On edit my profile I can't see a box to click - when I click on the words 'your avatar is inactive' a message flashes very briefly beneath it but that's all I can see.

a few people have said they cant see the box, it is there though, it's just invisible for some reason

If you look at the pic below and click where the box should be and then click submit at the bottom it will work

Do control F5 too, that should force the issue.

press the CTRL key, bottom left, at the same time press the F5 key, that should refresh it

where should I be when I do that? Do I do it just after I press submit or what?

It's an IE instruction. Do it anytime you want the screen to update from the web.

Unfortunately you still seem to have the default to me. Maybe one needs to wait a bit longer, or maybe something is still wrong ?

You can do control f5 at any time, but it may be better to log out of AB, clear your cache completely, then log back in. To clear you cache using IE you use tools, Internet Options , Delete (tick most boxes to delete temp files etc ).

When you when in My Profile Edit Details and ticked the invisible box to activate your avatar did you also press the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the page?

Silly question but you did grade the avatar as suiable for all sites when you created it, didn't you ?
