laptop mouse pad disabled

hiya,
my mousepad scrolling sidehas somehow stopped working, can someone show me how to get it back to work? i can move the mouse around, its just wont let me use the scrolling.

i can do everything on the mouspad apart from the scrolling. to scroll i tap on the right side of the pad and then keeping my finger on the pad and run my finger from top of the pad to the buttom and the webpage would move down or up if i run my fnger from bottom to top. its alot easier than using the scroll bar on the right of the webpage and have to hold the left button to scroll. hope this makes sense
