The Israeli Navy has jammed all communications aboard the ships of the Freedom Flotilla, blocking cell phone signals and internet connections aboard humanitarian aid ships. Scrambling the signals preceding the Israeli raid on the Flotilla, which involved special forces troops and the mobilization of one third of the Israeli Navy.

As the last few images broadcast from the Flotilla played over and over again on news channels around the world, agencies from Qatar to Malaysia called on Israel to allow them to report on the Israeli military attack on the civilian ships that left at least fifteen people dead.


Malaysian news agency Astro Awani called on the Israeli government to release information on two reporters aboard the Mavi Marmara, the Flotilla ship that was attacked by Israeli paratroopers early Monday morning. Al Jazeera Television also asked for protection for its three reporters aboard the ship. Both news agencies said they lost contact with their reporters just prior to the Israeli attack.

The Israeli government has tried to control the media's coverage of both the aid convoyand the raid on it, but the internet has frustrated its efforts, disseminating news and images from the ships.

Since all of those on board the ship who were not killed are presumed arrested by the Israeli military, the news agencies have called on the Israeli military to release the footage recorded by their reporters on board the ships. The small amount of video footage that has been able to get past the Israeli blackout has disproved Israeli claims that activists "grabbed the guns" of Israeli troops during their assault. Footage of the Israeli paratroopers landing on the ship's deck shows that the Israeli military attacked the unarmed activists unprovoked.

If they were aid ships, why were there 500 people on board? If the Palistinians stopped firing rockets into Israel then the Iraeli's would not have any need for a blockade.
The Israeli troops were attacked with iron bars, knives and other weapons. you cannot blame them for defending themselves.

Gaza is firing rockets into Gaza, Israel gets bigger everyday. What is the point of the UN when Israel just ignores them ?

Just think a minute. If Israel did that, it wouldn't last five minutes. The Palistinians would then choose to ignore the UN themselves, because it would no longer suit their purpose.
They are defying the UN by continuing to fir these rockets into Israel. Israel has a right to defend itself against all this aggression.

Probably as many as the Palisinians. Would you do so if you knew you were going to leave yourself open to attack? I think not! It's two-way thing.

I agree. Israel agreed to give Gaza to the Palistinians on the understanding that it would not be used for 'military purposes' What is firing rockets into Israel if not 'military purpose'? Then going crying to the UN when, after themselves ignoring UN resolutions, Israel retaliates? As I said, it's a two-way thing.

The Israelis were relentless, thorough, utterly barbaric, "casting" not just lead, but chemical weapons. And make no mistake--these war criminals couldn't pretend that Hamas fighters were hiding under the cribs where infants were obliterated by American-supplied rockets. According the Israeli human rights group, B'Tselem, the soldiers were merciless and murderous with the civilians: "Whole families were killed; parents saw their children shot before their very eyes; relatives watched their loved ones bleed to death; and entire neighborhoods were obliterated."

You believe that? I don't. That is what Hammas has done to Israeli families in the past. As I keep saying, it is a two-way thing.

It's a strange kind of peace Israel is offering the Palestinians. We'll take your land and build on it. (Known as 'facts on the ground' and meaning once that land is settled it will never be returned to Palestinians as part of any peace solution)
Israel has a stranglehold on the water supplies. This means that some Palestinian farmers can't work their land. In the same areas there's apparently enough water for private swimming pools for Israelis.
Israel acts like a swaggering bully. They rob and terrorise the Palestinians and then expect them to meekly accept their lot.
