freeview - bad reception grrrrrr

its driving me up the bleeping wall!! aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhhhh!!!

the reception with the dtr keeps cutting short, sticking, stop starting, freezing etc, some programmes are unwatchable...

is it the weather??!! lol

where are you looby? we have trouble at the moment with the commercial channels, keep freezing and pixillating, but we are close to France and they have switched on some of their HD channels. "Any way the wind blows...!"

High atmospheric pressure and solar flares (as well as the 11-year sunspot cycle) can both affect the transmission and reception of radio waves. The problems you're currently experiencing suggest that your aerial is good enough to cope during times when reception conditions are good but it's not up to the job when the strength of the incoming signal drops (or when there are additional interfering signals present).

A high quality high-gain directional antenna will fix it.
Ask for Triax (like a Unix) or Yagi.They are the best and rarely suffer problems like that.

Move house to be closer to a transmitter. I can see ours from the bedroom window and get perfect digital reception from a £3 set-top antenna.

If someone fits a Triax Unix 32 or 52 correctly, aligns it to the transmitter, and is using decent downlead, there are very few areas you cannot get all the multiplexes.
Do you know what Transmitter you receive from and how far?

its the work digtal upgrade thats causing the problem this work is essential and the signal will be very much better than before when the analogue signal is switched off in the next few months depending on where you live.here in Yorkshire thats next year

strange how the little cheapy freeview boxes work ok down stairs, but with the slightly 'posher' one upstairs, where i can record onto the hard drive and pause and rewind programmes etc, it plays up something cronic!
