AUTOCAD drawing to Adobe Illustrator
5 Answers
I am attempting to convert a .dwg file AUTOCAD produced (not by me I might add) which has some 20+ layers forming an illustration of a plan of my golf course. The different layers are sand bunkers, ditches & lakes, trees & hedges, fairways, tees etc. etc. The intention is to etch the plan in colour onto aluminium and the company concerned require an Adobe IIlustrator file. The fact that the .dwg file has so many layers and therefore huge (40Meg +) might be the reason of not being able to convert to Adobe Illustrator although a colleague has created a "one layer" plan from the 20+ but it is still 20Meg or so.
I am not in any shape or form competent in AUTOCAD and have never used Adobe Illustrator i.e. would creating the plan in Illustrator be the answer I ask myself.
Any advise would be appreciated.
