No such thing as the best when you are talking ADSL, they are all dependent so much on the quality of the phone line and the distance from the exchange.

Doesn't make any difference with fibre optics Chuck, only old BT copper wiring that i am aware will be switching to fibre optic in the near future.

I think "near future" is pushing it a little for most people.

BT are rolling out fibre to the cabinet at the moment (the connection into the house will still be copper pair) but they aim to have 10million premises connected by fibre by the end of 2012, which is a tiny percentage of all users and not really the near future.


However if the OP lives in a virgin cabled area then I agree they are the best provider.

I'm with BT at the mo but when the contract runs out I'll switch to Virgin (the house is already cabled).
