What advantage is the usb microphone over the analog one?

Disadvantage of USB microphones is you need the correct drivers for whatever OS you have, whereas an analogue microphone will work with everything as they don't require drivers.

Lower noise - no analog signals travelling round in the (usually) unscreened wires of what is probably the noisiest possible environment (the inside of a computer).
