 I am going to but one for my son, need an idiots guide to using them,Can i rip cds to my pc, and what type of file will it then be?, do i then need to change the file to mp3 to download to the player, if so how exactly do i do this? thirdly, if i want to add the player to the send to menu, how do i do this, thankyou all in advance for any help you are able to offer this novice

generally, you can use software such as musicmatch jukebox to rip your cds to your pc. the files you'll be left with will be mp3s.

then you plug your mp3 player into your pc (usually through a usb port). not sure about adding the mp3 player to the send to menu, but if you use windows explorer, most mp3 players will appear as a separate drive (like your cd drive or your floppy disk drive) and you can copy the files straight across.

it may be worth searching on google for your mp3 player as there are support forums for many players.

A prog called freerip mp3 will convert audio CDs to mp3 files and also bypasses any copy protection on the CDs.
