3D TV'S

Pro's and cons? Are these not the future once all the little niggles get ironed out, eventually I reckon Im getting a vision of a screenless visual just like the chess game from Star Wars!
So in the advert for 3d tv I seen some some print saying Glasses and box sold seperately now the glasses to my understanding will cost 60 quid or so but you'll get two with the box, but what exactly is the box and how much will this box cost?

I don't think the standards for 3D are properly sorted yet.
There is always one or two manufacturers waiting to jump the gun.
But is the general populus ready/wanting 3D .. Nope .. I don't think so.
I also think it will be a few more years at least for that to happen.
If you check out holographic displays, I would have thought that more important as development.

I wonder if those cheap glasses at the 3D cinema would work with a TV.

Whatever, sitting in my room wearing a pair of coloured glasses is a complete turnoff for me.

Well you need something to give you the 3D input - so either a set-top box (are they actually available from any of the TV suppliers yet?) or a 3D blu-ray machine to play 3D DVDs. The glasses need batteries too...
