Optical mouse question

When the computer's turned off the mouse (with it's little red light is left on, is this normal?

PS Forgive my ignorance on the optical mouse industry.

I have an HP PC & a cordless mouse. When the PC is switched off, the red light on the mouse stays on. So, every night I slide off the cover & lift one of the batteries out, they definitely last a bit longer this way. Hope that helps.

mine also stays on !

often wondered if it was normal but as it still worked fine i was happy
