Download & Watch Movies

I am a complete technophobic but i am wondering what i need to download movies & play them on some kind of player. Where would be the best sites to download movies on to my computer & what do i need to buy to play them on.

There's no doubt that a divx/avi/jpg player like Philips DVP 5980 or 5990 is the thing to have for this purpose. Will play anything. Has a USB2 port to play from pen drive too.
You can either convert downloaded avi's or mkv's to dvd format or play the avi's on a compiled data disc you have burned. You burn multi-session, onto a data DVD, so you can use it and fill it.
Personally I use Usenet .. have done for years. Too much to go into here tho.

When you say "player" you mean a program on your computer... the best is VLC Media Player and it is free to download.

As for films to download... different news groups, which have a monthly subscription are good as they are fast downloads.
Alternatively, LoveFilm allows you to download some films... BBC iPlayer also has some films you can watch on the BBC website.

Nope .. I meant Home player.
and VLC is not the best .. It is one of several dirsctshow players that has it's own codec system included.
Classic Media Player .. Gom Player ... VLC Videolan player are ain three.

Yes .. we are in a minority .. but have access to just about anything. And with par system, never issue with quality.
8 years now. Started with Agent, now NL&G-News.
