My question is, what would I expect to pay for it to be fixed, and the chap I spoke to at the pc repair shop said, it could me the motherboard too? as we have had a fault pin for ages?
Confused! any help or info much appreciated.

I have had to buy a new laptop today for this very reason - the receiving bit for the charger cable on my old one was broken and I was told it wasn't worth repairing.

thanks for your replys guys and girls
You can get all the bits you need to repair from RS Components .. Just need to strip out and de-solder/solder in new bits.
It is time consuming, obviously. A shop "might" have to charge £100 time to fit a 50p plastic part.
Sorry Prudie .. X
