my modem isnt wireless and im very confused as im being fobbed off by talktalk

hi im currently with talktalk broadband on my desktop, iv recently bought a laptop and my modem isnt wireless, iv spoke to talktalk sales team who told me 4 wks ago they would send me out a router, each week iv not recieved one and so phoned them back each week to be told "sorry i dont know why it hasnt been sent out yet but i will send one to you" that was until yesterday when i was told im out of contract with them and it will cost me £32 to send one or i can go and buy one from carphone warehouse, i went to carphone warehouse who told me they dont supply routers for talktalk but i can go to argos and purchase one, which i did i bought a netgear n150 abnd when i came to set it up i have no ethernet socket on my modem. i got back in touch with talktalk who once again passed me from pillar to post only to be sent back to the original team who promptly cut me off, please can anyone help me as i am very confused and frustrated

Yes you can get just the broadband from Virgin, but on their site it's sort of hidden away - have a look at http://allyours.virgi...es/product.do?id=3264 but read the small print too, there is an installation charge
a word of warning re buying a router from talk talk. In March I bought a router from Pipex (a talk talk company) whom I'd been with for four years. Cost £30 reduced to £20 because I told their salesperson I could buy it locally for same price. 6 weeks later I asked for a MAC code because they had trebled the cost of my monthly broadband package. A month after leaving them I got a demand for £160 for early termination of contract. When I questioned this they told me I had agreed to a further 12 months contract with a discounted router at the time of this purchase. This was a total fabrication by them. I am still fighting this, as ratter says "they really are the pits"
