Emailing - btinternet

I am trying to help a friend who says she types e-mail address out correctly but, when she presses "send", a message appears telling her that the e-mail address is not recognised. Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong?

She isn't typing it out correctly.

What mail system does she use?

That's what I told her but she insists she is typing it correctly, no spaces, etc. I'll have to find out her mail system when I am next in touch with her.

I have been having exactly the same problem with my Virgin Media email. Does not recognise the address, even when I press 'reply'!

Be sure that she isn't confusing letter l for 1 O for 0 and so on.

Re my reply posted a few minutes ago. I have just discovered that I was typing my messages in the address box, instead of just above the received email. Look for the blinking cursor, and type there. Maybe the problem I had is the same as your friends? Worth trying.
