Does anyone have a wireless network using NTL cable b/band? If so,does it work ok,and which products do you use to set it up.There are so many different products available,I am worried about getting the wrong ones.

When I was with ntl (until quite recently), I settled for the Linksys WRT54G broadband router and LinkSys WUSB11 USB network adapters. This combination was easy to set up and gave me the best range.

I was able to reliably connect in the garden about 70 feet away from the router going through 3 walls.

I use a netgear router WGR614. My husbands laptop has a netgear PCMCIA card in it and my desktop has a Belkin wireless networking card. All run at 54mbps. We have had no problems at all.

I would certainly go for a reputable brand - Netgear seems to most popular and problem-free.

Also would definitely suggest that ALL machines have the same make of Wireless card as the cable modem or router. There are standards but some cards of a certain make will give grief if talking back to another manufacturers router etc. You also need to consider security - to stop your neighbour tapping into your Internet connection !

If you give us some more info. I.e. what you are connecting, where the equipment is etc  we can give more detailed answers.
