eBay - Postage costs
25 Answers
Never used eBay before and just trying to sell an item. They now insist on a postage cost and my item weighs about 100kg. Do I just put 'courier' and a cost to cover it? (I've ticked 'Buyer can collect') What happens if the buyer is outside the UK - do I just not accept the bid?
I realsise that the answers to the above are probably somewhere on eBay but it's a bit of a minefield!

Ebay in europe has very little available and a lot of europeans 'foreigners' buy from the UK and pay good prices too, so do not rule out europe. DHL are good for large items, they charge on a volume basis unless the item is heavier than their standard weight/ volume formula, then they charge by weight. You can get the cost off their website. I have tried to buy items from the UK and couldn't because the vendors had UK only delivery. Since I would pay delivery and would have bid more than they got they missed out. So, go for european delivery and let the buyer pay. It took me ages to get the hang of the ebay postal procedures and I've forgotten it already so can't help with details.
This is how to block overseas buyers from bidding on your item.
Go to your My eBay page
on the left, there are three headings, Activity/Messages/Account
click on Account, then look for Site Preferences
look for Buyer Requirements and click on SHOW
check/tick the box that says: Block buyers whose primary shipping address is in a
location I don't ship to
click on SUBMIT
