No sound when viewing some websites on my PC
Does anyone have any idea why, when accessing some websites (no, not THOSE sort!), I can't get any sound, yet on others I can?
It's really frustrating, especially when (for example) I want to use YouTube - I have to use my laptop, on which I get sound on every site I access, including the ones that are "silent" on my desktop machine.

If you have visited YouTube on your desktop and turned the player down to just above zero, you will hear nothing, and Youtube will remember that setting on your return.
To re-iterate Chuck's answer, have you checked that on Youtube (and other sites that you have a problem with), the player volume is turned up? That is the volume setting on the web page itself - not the volume setting in your system tray, or the hardware volume control on you speaker system.

I knew what Chuck meant, rojash, but thanks for reiterating/explaining.
If I view the same site/page/item with the volume settings on said site/page/item turned up, I can hear sound on my laptop, but not on my desktop machine.
I have never referred to (nor changed) the volume settings in my system tray or on my speakers on either my laptop or my desktop machine.
