I need a programme to edit video footage

Does anyone know of any good free downloads for video editting or any good programs I can purchase that no too expensive ? preferably free, nothing too advanced just a simple to use but one that allows me to put titles to film and edit but cutting footage about. Thank you

If you're using Windows XP you've already got Windows Movie Maker. (You can find it from Start > All Programs).

For Windows Vista or Windows 7, Microsoft provides Windows Live Movie Maker as a free download:

Either will do what you want.

Thank you so much, I have found the Movie Maker already downloaded to my XP... and happy now I can start to use it.

If you still want another alternative then Google for "Avidemux".
It's FREE, quick and easy. I use it to edit Videos and then convert to .MPGs then play them with VLC Media Player. Much smaller files.
Suits me fine.
