I bought a new cd of andre reiu in vienna and wanted to put it on my ipod. I loaded it onto my pc and the album cover and list of songs came up as a different cd. another Andre Rieu. I played it and the music was what was listed on the original cd. when I put it onto ipod the titles were different to the songs playing its very confusing. when i play it on cd player it plays as it should. any one know the reason.

Generally speaking there is no information about the contents of the CD stored on the disk at all, when you insert the CD into a computer it attempts to download the information from a Internet database of CD's. and It makes mistakes sometimes, especially with very new or obscure titles.
Chuck, I too have experienced this. Are there any settings adjustments which can be made to avoid this from happening? I use Windows Media Player. Thanks.

thank you for your help it was just bugging me, I thought the computer read what was on the disc, I didnt realise it went through a data bank, Im happy now, LOL
You can manually edit the information stored in the file in pretty much all music programs..

On most things you can right click on the file(s) and select something like "edit file info" or "edit tag" and find the embedded (and now incorrect) information and edit it.

Make sure the artist name, album title, track number, track title are the very least you fill in.
Thanks Chuck!
Most Music programs get the CD Information from a Database like Gracenote.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gracenote_CDDB

Once you have manually re-typed the correct info for each track on the CD, remember to re-sync your iPod with the updated info.
I can't remember the last time that happened but at worst you may have to type in all the track titles by hand. The sleeve pic is usually an easier matter. Just select Google 'images' and type the name of the artist and you will probably see an extensive selection. Then it's just a 'copy & paste' job. (Very easy in iTunes)....
I've manually typed the titles but yet still when I loaded it on my Sansa, they didn't show. But, the titles did show on the Creative MP3... Perhaps it has something to do with Microsoft? Sansa I believe has some affiliation to Microsoft.
More likely because there are loads of different "standards" (I use the word standards loosely) for all file types and subsequent tagging options and all different brand players read them differently!

It the biggest headache of trying to lead a life with digital music!
Sorry for taking-over your thread Kendra.

Thanks Chuck and others who've responded to my question.
