Where has it gone? - I used to have the BBC News homepage, When coming on line I always checked the news out, loved being able to check things out at a click.

Now its gone I've now got some sort of 'Search Engine' how can I get it back again? I've been on the BBC website and once upon a time they used to ask if you wanted this page as your homepage & You would just have to click it, now thats all gone.
Can any of you PC wizzes guide me to the right way?

If you go to the BBC page that you want then click on 'Tools' then from the drop down menu select 'options' then click on 'use current page'.
Although you may have inadvertently agreed to the change during a software install, unless it's one of the "big" engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo etc), it may well be a sign that your computer has been infected. Worth running a scan.

Thankyou Sandy, Yes I did that but after clicking on 'options' there was no'use currant page' (that would have been too easy)

I had this happen when we ran an install, it's a sort of (but not) Google, is yours the same jem?
Assuming you are using Internet Explorer, in the Tools menu is Internet Options, select that and the first tab that is displayed is for General settings and the very top part of that is for the Homepage with one of the buttons being Use Current (that is how it is in IE7, they might have changed the names slightly in later versions).

It's highly unlikely that you've been infected with anything, they are not likely to openly advertise that they've infected your machine.

I've seen plenty of people download some "cool" search bar that is in fact tracking their searches for spam targeting purposes...
