Short-term fix:
If a pdf loads as blank, right-click on the task bar (at the foot of your screen) and access the Task Manager. Look for the process called Acrord32 and end it. Exit the Task Manager and then reload the pdf page. (It will magically appear).
Better fix:
Look for the setting, within your browser, which disables the Adobe Acrobat plug in. This appears to tell you what to do:

Then, when you click on a link to a pdf, it will no longer try to open within your browser's window but within a separate window. (You'll probably not even notice any real difference).
