resetting computer to factory settings...win 7

i used to have vista and i would often clear my stuff an put the comp back to factory settings, without a disc or anything, just by a function on my computer

i am now on windows 7 and i cant find any way to do this...can anyone tell me where and how i can do this?
i dont have a win 7 disk

Some, but not all, manufacturers put a recovery partition on their hard drives, so that you can restore settings. That might help you but, because the way of accessing the recovery partition (if one exists) varies between different makes of computer, we'll need to know what make you've got in order to be able to point you in the right direction.

thanks...no there is only one disc partition..i used to have 2 on vista but now only one

How do you know there is only one partition, the recovery partition is often hidden.

As Chris said, the make and model of the computer would help us to answer.

Is there a option to enter recovery console when starting up your computer? You will probably haev to press F8 on startup to see this menu. Sorry I have XP but it might be the same for W7.

no the option isnt there when i press f8

the recovery partition was visible with vista...

i have a compaq presario f560

it either F11 at startup, or Start > All Programs > Recovery Manager > Recovery Manager from within windows.

thanks chuck, but theres isnt a recovery manager in programs...and nothing happens at all when i press f11 at start up it sjust turns on as normal

any other ideas?
