Finalizing DVDs on another DVD Recorder

A little while ago I asked if DVDs could be finalized on a recorder other than the one they were originally recorded on. The answers that came suggested that it was theoretically possible - but not guaranteed - providing that the new recorder was of a similar make and specification to the original. I am glad to report that I bought a new recorder yesterday and, after having it correctly installed and set up, it is able to do everything that I require so I am delighted not to have lost forever the programmes and other stuff that I hadn't been able to finalize.
