I have a Canon S200x printer. It has just started to print badly. The first half a page has white lines running periodically through the black text. I get the feeling this is not a cartridge problem. Is my printer on it's way out, or can I fix this problem? The lower half of the page is printed okay. Any ideas very much appreciated!

This is a common sign that your print heads need cleaning, nothing fatal. There should be a utility somewhere in your printers utilities to let you do this. The fact that it printed the bottom half of page ok, suggests that it may have already cleared itself.
Agree with Chillum, sounds as if the problem is already resolved. Have found in the past that if I don't use my printer for a while, dried toner can clog things up a bit. A quick clean and you're off again!
