HOTMAIL CHAT WITH PEOPLE YOU HAVEN'T ACCEPTED!!!!

How come these two 'people' started talking to me through windows live hotmail chat when I never added them? yesterday one did and today when i went to check my emails, another did. They are obviously using computer generated talk and are trying to get me to sign up to a rather spurious looking website where i can see them on webcam, obviously i didn't click on any of the links.

But how are they talking to me?

There is a setting in messenger to not accept anything from people not on your contact list, make sure that is ticked.

I can't remember exactly where the setting is and I've not got messenger on this computer, so have a look round the settings for it.

Thanks, there's been an update recently and it's changed so you can have hotmail chat on the same part of the site you go to, to check your emails, and that's when it's started.
