I've just bought this DVD RW and I was wondering if I needed to buy any software to run it as there wasn't any included. Also will I need to uninstall my existing CD RW before installing?

You won't need to uninstall the existing drive. I presume you are running XP, if so the bruner should work fine. However to get full funtionality out of the dual layer ability of that drive you'll need a programme like Nero

Unplug one, plug in the other and presto. windows will set up the nessesary driver.

oops, my bad. Like Rabelais said, you will need burning software. this is not software to make the drive work, but to be able to burn video to it. I believe nero and pinnacle or roxio are the most popular.
