Grand Riviera Princess, Riviera Maya Platinum Lounge Gas Explosion!
Firstly... Our Deepest Sympathy goes out to the families of those who were lost in this freak accident... God Bless You.
We are due to go to this hotel in 2 days... We have upgraded to the Platinum Suites and paid £7,000 for myself my partner, mother-in-law and daughter all to visit this 5* Hotel.
Not only are half of the facilities that we have paid for not going to be available, but from a safety perspective we do not want to stay here.
We are going to the travel agent first thing tomorrow morning,
Please can anyone advise us of our rights ASAP.
Thank You in advance

the explosion is now thought to have been caused by a backlog of sewge(which can be fixed) and not as previously, a methane explosion caused by the mangrove swamps(which could not have been fixed)
I am sorry I cant give you more reassuring news.
