The information you have given is too vague. When you say picks up do you mean that the netbook detects the network but doesn't connect, or sees the network and does connect? Connection to your router (network) and connection to the internet are two different things. Before you connect to the internet you need to connect to your local network.
Also, do you have other computers using wi-fi which are connected to the internet?
Is your network a security enabled network? If so when you add a new computer you need to supply security information before it will be allowed to connect.
Who set your wi-fi up for you? Is it BT wifi or Virgin media cable with router?
Thank you Vascop for your answers. Yes, the router connection to the netbook is on 5 bars and it has connected on a regular basis, just this last week or so it has decided not to open the web pages requested. I also have a laptop connected to the router and both have run well alongside each other, in fact there are no problems with the laptop.. Hope this information is a little more comprehensive. JD
First:
Open the wireless connections stored as a list in the wireless properties. Delete the connections in there. Reboot and try again, entering the access key (presuming it is a secured network)
