fark.com
livescience.com
howstuffworks.com
imageshack.us (image host, one of many...)
heavens-above.com
The last one is fun in a strange sort of way. The site is mainly a source of data about the positions of the planets, stars and comets etc. - quite boring stuff - but the best bit is when you click onto the Iridium Flares section. There are lots of these small satellites orbiting the Earth called the "Iridium" satellites, and when the sun reflects off them at the right angle you see a bright glow in the sky, a bit like a meteor. Ok it does sound quite dull the way I put it...but it's actually pretty spectacular when you get a bright one (magnitude of -7 or -8).
And as if there was even a chance that you hadn't seen them, the following are obligatory:
homestarrunner.com (sbemail section - ignore all the rest)
allyourbase.
a site I Moderate is www.fruit-emu.com
We recreate fruit machines 3+ years old which you can download and play totally free of charge.
Should anybody look and download machines, if you have any problems just post on the forum and 1 of the 30.000 members will help. And be sure to mention www.theanswerbank.co.uk
http://www.aooa.co.uk/THE%20PHONE.swf
this may work
Oh yeah, I forgot about isketch. It's worthing ebaying for a graphics tablet just to play that. Another great game (download required) can be found here. If you have a high speed connection then Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is highly recommended (free, but 258MB).
MargeB, to add a hyperlink to your post you can either type or copy/paste the URL in like this: www.google.co.uk. If you want a different word to appear, e.g. Google, then add the link to your post as before, press enter, drag across the link to highlight it, and then type in the word that you want.
