I can send E mails but they do not show up in my sent box. I know they have gone as I have had replies.I have tried asking on help and support, but I am 84 and I find it very
difficult to follow the intructions they give. Please can anyone tell me a simple way to correct this problem as it becomes expensive to call out a repair man here.
Many thanks in advance

Without knowing youe exact email client, I'll try this.

Click on Tools, then Options

Choose the tab marked 'Send'

Tick the box marked - Save copy of sent messages in the 'Sent items' folder

Click Apply at the bottom.

Click OK

... then send an email again and see if that works. :-)

Thanks NazNomad but I cant find a tab marked send
As Naz implied, without you stating what mail client you are using any answer to this is a pure guess.
Then we need to know what method you use to send emails ...as Chuck says, it's guesswork at best.

Sorry about that. My supplier is Virgin.net
Ironmonger:
What people are asking for here is the name of the computer program that you use to access your email account. Some people use a dedicated program (such as Outlook Express, Outlook, Windows Mail or Thunderbird) while other people access their mail through a web page (using Internet Explorer, Firefox or similar). The settings you need to change will probably be somewhere within the relevant program, so we need to know which one it is.

Do you use Outlook Express on your PC/Laptop ? ... or Outlook? ..
OR do you log in on your Service Provider's webpage?

Thank you Bluechico and AlBags. I must apologise for the delay
as I went for a meal.
My computer program is Outlook Express
Thank you
If you're using Outlook Express, the very first post (from NazNomad) above should provide the correct answer. Take another look at it. When you click on Options, you should be presented with a panel like this one:

The 'Send' tab is at the top.
Follow NazNomad's directions.
(If you find that there's already a tick alongside 'Save a copy of sent messages . . . ', click to remove it. Click 'Apply', click 'OK'. Close Outlook Express. Reboot your PC. Open Outlook Express again and go through the same procedure to put the tick back).

It reads from left to right/
General Security Privacy Content Connections Program
I have been having trouble with Virgin at odd times I wonder if they
are at fault. I read in the paper the other day that they had broken down
and some people could not access the net for some days

Hello everyone. A miracle has happened. Everything is back to normal. How I do not know. Many thanks to all who have replied. You are a wonderful lot of people who
I know are always willing to help. Have a good weekend.

It's unlikely that a problem with Virgin would affect your Outlook Express settings. That said, gremlins are unpredictable at best.
Glad it's ok now. :-)
