A programme I have been using for years has suddenly collapsed with the message on screen as 'c\bridscor\briddata\bridge.mdb' is corrupted or is'nt a Microsoft Access database.
I have been on to the programme supplier who has advised me to download another version but it will still not run. I hav'nt heard from him since.
Could it be something to do with I am Vista.

Most grateful for any help

As you haven't said wht computer program it is, it is hard to help but check that the program is Vista compatible.
Have you tried compact and repairing it?
Looks to me like the access DB has been corrupted, the message is from MS Access itself, nothing to do with a program missing. restore bridge.mdb from your last backup and retry. It's not a Vista issue, could be a compatability issue betwee versions of MS- Access.
Assume you've done this? ...

Ensure that BridScor is not currently running on your computer
Click on www.bridscor.fsnet.co.uk/BridProg.exe
When prompted, click on Open
When prompted, click on Unzip (then OK, then Close)

This procedure will install the latest version of BridScor.exe into folder \BridScor overwriting the existing version.
With regular use of BridScor the Database Files, Bridge.Mdb and Bridge.Ldb, can become somewhat large, internally complex and inefficient. It is strongly recommended that the user should click on File/Compact Database from time to time, before opening any events. Compacting the database files every three months or so should be more than adequate. From version 5.4 onwards this procedure is carried out automatically by BridScor itself.
