Has anyone sang with a Karaoke machine ,then tried to sing with a real musical instrument and found that they were singing out of tune .One of the reasons is that on a Karaoke machine there is a facility to change the pitch of the tuneing to match your voice, but when you try to sing with an instrument ,some people find it impossible to sing in tune ,this is because they are singing notes that are "Between the Cracks" for example on a Piano there are White and Black notes some people sing between the two

I don't do karaoke
My musical claim to fame is that I was once thrown out of a taxi for singing along to the taxi radio.
I think the conversation went:

"Shut the eff up or you are out of here"

It was a long walk home
If you had to sing for your supper then mrs o - you'd starve?
For sure.
Mind you, the song was The Flying Pickets - Only You, and I was trying to sing all the harmonies at once on my own.
The taxi driver's ears are probably still bleeding
You want a party clearing out ? whoyagonnacall..?......ME !
never done Karaoke, but sung in a punk band when i was 15 until they told me to beat it so ended up playing drums (quite badly but not as bad as my singing lol) for them instead
I'm a dab hand at any Tom Jones or Dusty Springfield. Crazy by Patsy Clinic and Son of a Preacher Man are my current favourites.
not Jake the peg then Sal? lol
Uh?
lol @ Patsy Clinic
see music songs you cant get out of your head Sal
I have sung twice - both times abroad on holiday in Spain - much to my family's embarassment.

First time was 'New York New York', complete with lefg kicks - would have been understanable and par for the course if i had had eight pints, but as a tee-totaler, i have no excuse at all.

Second time was 'Ernie, The Fastest Milkman In The West' - complete with Est Country accent, as required - loved it - audience indifferent.

I do agree that pitching technology hides a multitude of sins for 'singers'.
Andy - is there no end to your talents?
My favourite experience was during my first attemtp - as listed previously - when a lady got up to sing, with the following 'club singer' cliches present and correct -

badly dyed blonde hair
piercings
tattoos
fake leopardskin dress
sunburn on top of fake tan
white stilettos
loads of clanking gold jewellry
turqoise eyeshadow
seriously drunk
barely able to stand

and what did she sing?

'Wind Beneath My Wings' - complete with tearful eye contact and mutual blubbering with obvious best friend in audience!

My family threatened to walk out and leave me due to my inability to breathe because of supressed hysteria, which caused me to bend double and tears to spring from my eyes, with muffled noises from my compressed lips akin to someone with flu blowing a bugle.

One of the best nights out I have ever had!!!
No mrs o. - and some would say no beginning either!
Andy !!we have met then?
Was it you murraymints????

I salute you for providing me with a real life Fast Show-esque experience free of charge - it was wonderful and never to be forgotten!
like to keep everyone happy Andy
If only sara 3 thought like you ... sigh ...
Sara 3 come out come out wherever you are a ..presumably...grown man here in pain...needing succour...
Succor? I think I have a bottle of that somewhere
