hello, i have windows 7 started on my netbook, (if that helps?) and i am trying to change the speed of it. i know if you have a normal mouse you can make it faster/slower. can you do that with a touchpad? its just i have to run my finger along it a few times to get the mouse to where i want it to be! grrrr. anyone know how to change the settings?

Yes, it's the same setting, it will change the speed of the pointer regardless of if a mouse or a touchpad is used.
