.. something like the old stack systems where you had a turntable and CD player.

I bought something similar to this a couple of years ago from a mail order company, I am pleased with it. Single play (no stack) for vinyl, CD player, tape player, radio. http://www.wotever.co.uk/record_carlisle.htm
How much do you want to spend, and how interested in sound quality are you?

I'd suggest seperates personally (but i'm a bit of an audiophile) so i'd look at either

have you tried separates, I used to have a pioneer set which was excellent, from ebay (vintage)
I still have my Technic SL1200 turntables... would NEVER part with them lol.
Don't buy those 'orrible plastic things from the sunday supplements. They have tinny awful sound, and the record deck has a crude plasticarm with no proper weight adjustments and antiskate, plus a ceramic cartridge of unknown origin. Guaranteed to wear down your records fast. Do yourself a favour and get a classic 70s deck (Garrard, Lenco, Pioneer...) and a decent amp for more or less the same money - look second hand.
i have seen them at car boot sales
