We apologise to hear that you are experiencing issue when accessing our site. The common caused for this issue is the time and date of your computer could be wrong, because in that case, the certificated may show up as expired.. We advised that you try to change the Time/Date or making sure it is set correctly and try again.

Alternatively, make sure that the account is in the trusted sites list. Go to Tools >Go to Tools > Internet Options > Security. On the Internet Zone click the Sites button and add the www.willhill.com domain.

Also, we suggest you to check your firewall settings.

i have done all that and still get the message about securitycertificate! i give up!!!

Try using a browser other than Chrome. The site will have been designed for Firefox and Internet Explorer rather than every internet browser that there possibly could be.

hi squarebrear have taken chrome off and have Internet Exploer 8 on,
ihave tried all other sites i use and no problems at all just william hill!!

It isn't about the Trusted Sites. This is the Security Certificate that signs the code on the page and encrypts the https traffic.

Indeed you SHOULD NOT ADD a site with an invalid certificate to Trusted Sites. Depending on the settings in Trusted Sites this may enable dangerous code to be run. I strongly recommend you remove immediately remove the site from the Trusted Sites list.

Security Certificates are managed by Windows. The browser makes no difference. However the management interface is in Internet Explorer.

Tools / Internet Options / Content

Firstly try Clear SSL State. This reassesses the chain of certificates back to the root authorities. If your Windows updates are complete and Clear SSL State doesn't fix it there really is a problem with the certificate.

Make sure you have all updates applied to Windows. A recent update affected the Root Certification Authority list and without this some certificates cannot be verified.

It may be that you have a malware that is taking you to a fake version of the site with a fake certificate and this is why the certificate is being rejected.

When the Problem with Certificate message comes up you should be able to View Certificate. Then open the Certification Path tab. This will show how the certificate is verified. It may be there is a problem higher up the chain.

Do not under any circumstances try to add a problem authority to the trusted publishers and especially DO NOT delete the two fake Microsoft certificates in the Untrusted Publishers list. I have seen this suggested on line and it is a BIG mistake. If the path includes one of these then you definitely are at a fake site.
