B T Graphite cordless phone
4 Answers
An elderly neighbour has a single cordless phone (no 'extensions') installed downstairs. There is an extension upstairs with a corded phone attached.
A couple of days ago she said the line went dead and was like this for a short while. When it returned whenever someone rings in the phone downstairs doesnt ring but the one upstairs does and she is able to answer if she hears it. Out going calls are not affected.
I tried to sort out today and I could get the base melody to ring and the phone melody too but still it will not ring on an incoming call.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. As a single phone unit I do not have to 'register' that one do I??
Users manual supplied is cr@p. And would you belive this happened 1 year and 1 week from purchase......

yes even single phone sets need to have the handset registered to the base . But check if the page button on the base works, if it does it's already registered.
See page 29 of the manual for how to register if it does need it

I doubt it's a registration problem though, what happens if you swap the two phones over, that should tell you if it's the phone or the socket.

I had BT Graphite 1500 quad dect phones and had the same problem so I contacted BT, they told me what to try but it never worked so they concluded that there was a software fault with the unit. I have only had the phones for 2 months so I am waiting to return them after Christmas.
