Are blu ray disc's region free?

I want to get saw 3d, but I am not sure if the discs are region free or not?

I've just borrowed a blu ray disc from a friend and it says Region B on it.. no idea how that works though!

UK dvds are region 2, I think. you can get some that are region free, or dvd players that play all regions.

You can unlock many players (some very easily) to be able to watch all regions.

I am hoping I can get my Panasonic player to play multiregion discs when I buy it (normal dvds)
