Reinstalling win 2000

i currently run win 2000 on my laptop but it did not have microsoft packages with it.  i now have a win 2000 disk with the full works on it - word excel powerpoint. How do i put the new disk over the top of the current OS?

Will it automatically prompt me as a 'repair' ?

Windows 2000 is an operating system.

If you have a disk with Word, Excel, etc on it, this is Office 2000, which is not an operating system, but a suite of applications.

You just put the disk in and follow the instructions to install the applications.
