Sprayermicks deleted thread
4 Answers
He asked a genuine question concerning a utorrent issue and I replied. It seems to have been deleted from this site.
Given that new moderators have enhanced powers to modify content on this site, I'm wondering how consistent they are.
Yes, of course I understand the legalities and understand why some may regard the information unsuitable for this site , but If you enter utorrent into the search bar I think you'll find many questions and answers relating to not only utorrent but other P2P sites and preferred client software/trackers etc.
So why has the question disappeared?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Morning rasman - only the Ed can answer that, I believe. When the new powers came in, Ed explained to us all that mods can suspend - and Ed has the power to reverse that - or ban if something is extremely offensive. IMO Mods can't modify content of posts, only Ed can pull posts - and he's not likely to offer explanations about his actions, he's said before that "Ed's decision is final".
I didn't see it so I can't comment, but I can only assume from what you say that it wasn't the content of the post but the OP himself which was a problem - perhaps he was a previously banned user under another name. Banned people have often tried to come back with sensible questions or made some people laugh - but Ed does rumble them in the end. It's either that or something in the content of the post.
If it wasn't fair, then sprayermick will be back.

probably because AB are bothered about the legal side of things. They do however allow people to give legal advice, medical advice which yesterday scared the op and was so over the top it was quite misleading and other advice which could also lead to the complications the moderators thought possible when discussing illegal downloads - AB is very inconsistent in it's deletion of posts and threads but then many sites are exactly the same
if you think medical advice is misleading, you can either add a post saying so, or report the answer to the Ed; if you don't report it the Ed won't know about it. Likewise, I'm guessing someone reported the utorrent thread and the Ed decided to remove it for whatever reason (possibly a legal one).
"Inconsistency" is usually down to the fact that the Ed doesn't read everything.
