My friend has received several photos on emails from her daughter. The photos are absolutely massive.Any idea how to reduce them? It's through Virgin Media. Many thanks if you can help.

they would need to be reduced in size first with a photo editor programme
Is there any reason you want to reduce them (i.e. to enable you to email them) or is it just the can't view them properly on the screen?

If it's just because you can't view them then use something that enables you to zoom out on the picture to view it.

Thanks Chuck,it's just because you can't view them properly.Instead of a photo with 2 people on,all she can see is the corner of one person massively magnified. Will take a look at that link. Thanks very much to both of you.
IrfanView

Toolbar .. Image .. Resize .. make sure preserve aspect ratio is selected and choose a resize option.
Everyone should use IrfanView as default viewer .. can't beat it.
It's free too. Get the program and the separate plug-in pack.
There is no need to resize as al suggests in this instance, just zoom out on the pictures (or select fit to window (or similar) on the view menu.)

resizing is useful if you want to reduce the size to help with emailing, for example, but can lose quality, better to keep the picture size and quality the same and just adjust your view to suit the size.
Yes .. I always keep the program selected to resize to window.
Personal preference tho, I s'pose on what is an acceptable size to keep. That size is not too good for emailing about with others in a group attachment.
If the pictures are INSERTED into the body of the email it should have handles ie small squares at each corner and half way down each side. By clicking on them the daughter can adjust the picture to any size. Another way would be to save the pictures and zoom out . Most graphics applications have have some sort of zoom adjustment. In many cases if the picture is sent as an attachment and opened by the recipient that also is viewable as the PC adjusts it automatically.
