Pay as you go Dongle
22 Answers
Can anyone tell me of a true pay as you go Dongle. All of the ones I have enquired about you have to use within a time period, except for Orange and then I can only do £2 a day with no option to buy more on that day. I am told this is a fair way of accessing the internet, but how is it fair to me if I have paid for the access and then it expires before I use it. I have a pay as you go phone and the same £20 sits on it forever as I only use it in emergencies. I want the same system with a dongle.

You'd have to be doing some heavy duty downloading to use all your data in 24 hours

How much broadband do you get for that? I have an O2 dongle at £15 for 2G for 30 days which is more than enough for my needs as I very rarely download anything, just browse and send emails (and talk on here, of course). Considering that 50p per day is half the price of my newspaper I consider it could value. I do take the point about expiry limits though. I topped up my O2 mobile with £20 two years ago and I've still got £14 left.
This is it.

I only want internet access, not extra TV (apart form Freeview) or different phone provider, so it suits me fine. Apart from introductory offers I think you would be hard pushed to get a contract with BT, Sky or Virgin for much less than £15 per month, plus you don't have the hassle of having to ring an Indian call centre every other day when it starts acting up.
