Got windows 7 laptop. Using mozilla firefox. Trying to watch youtube but it just keeps loading ..... do I need to download something to watch youtube quicker ?

2400 should be OK for youtube as long as you are not trying to watch HD stuff. but it's not a great speed and during busy times it may be a problem.
Also it says in BT terms for option1 broadband "We do limit the speed of all video streaming to 896Kbps on our Option 1 product, during peak times only"
896Kbs is not enough to watch youtube, so if they are restricting yur speed that will be why.

Doc, the low upload is normal.
The A in ADSL stands for Asymmetric, which means that the upload speed is different from the download speed. the reasoning behind this is basically you download a lot from the internet but you upload very little so you don't need a fast upload speed.
In some areas you can get SDSL (Symmetric digital subscriber line) which the upload and download is the same speed, but 99.9% of people would have no real use for a faster upload speed.
