my blackberry run out of battery power - completely

i am now charging it up

but cant turn it on

does it need so much charge before i can do this??

p.s i am charging it thru a usb lead

so may not be getting the full amount of a std charger??

p.p.s is it the green or red button i need to trying

cant remember ever having to turn it on since i first got it

With most phones Green to start Red to stop.
Quick tap on the red for my phones to get them started.

Yes, it's not unusual to have to charge a phone for 10 minutes or so before it'll turn on.
It'll take quite a while to do via the USB, but it will switch on....eventually! And it should switch on automatically too, least mine does anyway.

i thought that may be the case

and possibly a bit longer than 10 mins if doing it thru a usb charge??

hope so cos it been on charge about 20 mins now

still need help - i cant get phone to come on

still not sure if its the red or green button

so thats probaly not helping

and earlier on this afternoon the screen did come on (so thtas not broke!) showing a picture of a battery with a strike of lightning symbol - sort of thing - going thru it

is that telling battery is broke??

dont know how as its a fairly new phone

all i can say is the battery was completly flat before i started charging it
