Hi
Santa brought me an XBox 360 for Christmas and I have been most annoyed with the confusion surrounding the online access. I tried to view SKY Player through my Xbox (which MS is proud to advertise when they get the chance) but it seems as though I need a Gold membership of £40 per annum. Hmmmm, SKY Player which is free through my PC????? It also seems that I require Microsoft Media Centre on my PC. Is this correct? I only have Windows XP, which doesn't have the Media Centre. At least on the PS3 you can go surfing on the internet as you please. What can I do using my Xbox Live apart from playing games?
You don't need the full Media Centre software, there's a small download from Microsoft which covers you for connecting to the 360. Look on the Xbox Support site for what you need.
As for the £40 a year, you can find it cheaper than that by searching online and it's well worth it.
Sorry - can't answer your question but maybe you can answer one for me please. My son has Gold membership and we have Sky, how does he watch sky through his Xbox? Thanks
Thanks doomey!, got an I D now, quite happy to let the boy have the details - he is a bit too sensible really! (And I have now found out he can watch the BBC player thing too.)
