Not perfect but it may help
I used to get calls like these and just used to give them false details. They soon stopped ringing.
Next time they ring - shout down the phone that you are deaf and tell them to put their request in writing. Probably will not hear from them again.

they are usually pre-recorded

if you are deaf how do you know what they are asking for?
or you could just pay £4 a month and have annonymous call reject to your phone, wouldnt be without it myself
I've got caller ID - it only costs £2 a month and I only answer phone calls from people I know.

I am partially deaf and also have a special deaf phone and also caller id - however some of these numbers come up "private" or withheld or international. so there ya go.
caller ID only works if you allow other people to have your caller id ie phone number...we are ex directory and there is no way.

Phone for the deaf . Does it flash as well as ring?
Its a nuisance for everyone Connemara so as you are able to determine that they are indeed Nuisance Calls hang up.
Other than that call 150 and ask the advisor for the facility which enables you to block anyone who withholds their number from calling you.
Alernatively Connemmara you may wish to call BTs Nuisance Call Bureau 0800 661 441 and advise them the calls are distressing to you as you are barely able to hear them due to your partial deafness. Its 'Anonymous Call Reject' .
Dris - "phone for the deaf" reminds me of this old sketch :-)
