TV Ethernet connection

My TV has an Ethernet socket. There are spare sockets on my Speedtouch 585v6 router. Is it possible to connect the two together ? The idea is to be able to watch BBCi player on the TV.

What internet "stations" you can access depends on your tv make. I've a Sony Bravia connected to my router (ethernet or wireless) and get iPlayer, Lovefilm, You Tube and quite few more plus some Internet music stations

Don't expect any better picture quality than UTube though!
