In late 2002 Grand Theft Auto Vice City was released, on one of the Radio Stations was the song "Get down Saturday night". A few months later, in March 2003, a remix called "Make Luv" was released.

Due to the popularity of the game (it's one of the best selling games of all time), I've always suspected that it was due this game that it was remixed.

Does anyone know for sure either way?

All before 2002 ... seems it had been through the mill long before GTA:VC

The song has been sampled for other songs, particularly in electronic dance music.

* Barrio Debajo - "Gotta Let Yourself Go" (1993)
* DJ Kom - "Git down Saturday" (1997)
* Ideal (featuring Li'l Mo & RL) - "Whatever" (1999)
* DJ Flex - Good Feelin' (2000)

Alternate versions

* 1988 - "Get Down Saturday Night (You Can Do It)"
* 1989 - "Get Down Saturday Night (Get Down in the 90's)"
* 1998 - "Get Down Saturday Night '98"
* 1999 - "Get Down Saturday Night '99"

fair enough then, maybe it wasn't Vice City
All i know is that Oliver Cheatham's original version (1983) is the best and i first heard it on the wonderful Hit Mix 86 LP!
I also think that the fact that it was used in a Lynx advert in 2003 might have also made it popular not just GTA?

When in 2003 was the lynx advert released?
I think it was Jan/Feb 2003.
