I have had a bad cold for four days now , and when i breathe out i hear crackling sounds in my chest , do i need to see a doctor and how urgent should i be?

You sound as though you have a chest infection - ring your GP and get a home visit, just to be on the safe side, or if you can get to the surgery, ask to be seen urgently. 

You may have a chest infection in which case you'll need antibiotics, no harm in seeing the doc just to get checked out. Get well soon!

Ooops, great minds think alike. Must have posted at same time!
Forgot to say, keep drinking lots of clear fluids, preferably hot water with lemon and honey as this will help to loosen the phlegm.
agree could poss be a chest infection - BUT no real rush to see doc as most will not give antibiotics for at least 7 days as could be viral.
Also most def does NOT need home visit. They should be kept for emergencies.
I had this for a weeks and did nothing about it- then I got pleurisy and ended up in hospital for a week. Get some antibiotics!

Thankyou to all the Answer Bankers who replied to my question,"Chest Sounds", I went to the Doc's this morning and she said it was a chest infection and has given me some anti-biotics.  Hopefully i will be feeling back to my old self soon.
