Couldn't have been all that much of an emergency taking into account that Mr Obama first hosted a concert at the White House.to celebrate Black History Month.

The question must be asked why only Britain, France and Italy, why isn't the United Nations not involved?

Perhaps the Italians should be amongst the last to get involved, taking into account their past record in Libya.

They`re protecting their oil interests. They wouldn`t bother getting involved if it was all kicking off in some obscure African country.

Except that Libya is not one of the major oil suppliers.

It is more likely to be stability in the Middle east and wher we go from here.

Can't understand the Italians or French, unless its for advice on how countries surrender, change sides or shop their fellow countrymen.

They are needed in Afghanistan, needed to man the prisons if the prison staff come out on strike, needed for the Royal Wedding and then for the Olympics.

Obama would like to tie his hands on the problem and has said in the past regional problems should be handled by states in that region which includes the 3 military countries you mention. That is why he wanted Turkey to become part of the EU no matter what we thought of the stupid idea. I'm glad Blair has gone walkies because he would have jumped at the chance to throw the EUs weight around at the behest of Lord almighty Obama sitting in his ivory tower.
