I have a gorgeous picture of my nephew and niece I'm trying to print off to frame with some other pictures. When I open it in Windows Photo Gallery it comes up in portrait form and I can't for the life of me work out how to flip it round so it prints off landscape. Well, I can flip it to landscape but it flips the whole picture, not just the frame so it means you would have to tilt your head to the side to look at the photo. Can anyone help me?

That would normally be in your print options, not your viewing options.

I've looked there but the only options it gives are printer, paper size, quality and paper type. Nothing to select landscape or portrait.
I've just done a bit of tinkering with my Windows Photo Gallery, and the best that I can come up with is this:
1. Go to Photo Gallery and click on your picture so that it appears, alone, on your screen.
2. Click on Fix tab (at top of screen). List of options appears on right of screen.
3. Click on Crop Picture. Crop frame appears on your photo.
4. Click on Rotate Frame (just below Crop Picture).

The crop frame will rotate to landscape, but unfortunately it means that you will lose some of the picture at the top and bottom. Sorry, but without a more-advanced photo editing program that's the best that I can think of.

Ahh, thanks for the help bookbinder. That worked but as you said, crops too much of the picture off and the baby loses her chin :os

Never mind, will just have to get a seperate frame and print it portrait. thanks though!
just uncheck portrait and check landscape when your installed printer preferances window opens......thats what i do
That's where I would expect to find it ... In the printer options, under 'page setup'.

There is no page set up option when I do that though. I know exactly what you mean as I do that on word and excel files but I can't find it on here.
Can you open the picture in something else ... Photoshop / Paint / other
... and print from there.
Windows Photo Gallery >Print >at the bottom right OPTIONS > Print Settings > Printer Properties > Advanced > Orientation > Portrait or Landscape

ggrrr, when I click printer settings it comes up with an error. Will have a try of all the suggestions when I'm in work next week.
You really need to get some decent photoediting software like Photoshop.
Question Author
Well, it's only one picture I'm trying to print. If I can't do it this way I'll just buy a different frame that it will fit in.
